Jewellery and craft maker Kreolor is unique to Seychelles. Founded in 1990, the company is a joint venture between foreign investors and the Government of Seychelles, with Claudio Izzi as its creative director. Utilising the skills of specially trained local goldsmiths and craftsmen the company has now built a workforce of 40 employees. Following the success of the jewellery making firm, the creative team turned their attention to using more varied natural materials and set up a craft section in 1998. As a result, Kreolor craftsmen are now hand-sculpting works of art primarily in local materials, a reminder of days gone by when local people were happy to use materials they found around them to create rudimentary jewellery and craft items.

Today, Kreolor products combine handcrafted ingenuity with traces of local tradition and vibrances of tropical life - a reflection of Seychelles that visitors find so fascinating.
